Safe zones (geofences)

Draw a circle or polygon around any place that matters. Get a notification when your kid arrives or leaves.

4 min

A safe zone is a place where you want HaevenX to ping you whenever a family member crosses the boundary. Most parents set up at least three: home, school, and one for after-school activities (sports, friend's house, work).

Creating a safe zone

From your family dashboard, tap Safe zones, then + New zone. You'll see a map centered on your last known location.

  1. Drag the map until your target is in the middle.
  2. Choose either a circle (drag the radius handle to size it) or polygon (tap to drop boundary points, minimum three).
  3. Name it (Home, School, Soccer practice).
  4. Choose which family members it applies to (default: all).
  5. Tap Save zone.

What you'll see when someone crosses

The instant a family member's GPS shows them entering or leaving a zone, you get a push notification:

"Sarah arrived at School at 8:14 AM"

The notification deep-links into your family dashboard so you can see the exact location and the time they crossed.

Tips

  • Polygons beat circles for buildings on busy streets. A circle that covers your school may also cover the bus stop across the road, generating false enter/leave events as your kid waits for the bus. Draw a polygon along the school's actual property line to avoid that.
  • Don't overlap zones. If two zones overlap and a family member walks through both at once, you'll get two notifications. Keep the boundaries separate where you can.
  • Mute notifications on a zone you no longer want alerts for (e.g., the kid's school during summer break). The zone stays drawn; the notifications pause.

Deleting a zone

Open the zone from the safe-zones list, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete zone. There's no undo, but you can recreate it from the same map view if you change your mind.
